Job Description

A boutique litigation firm is seeking a Litigation Defense Associate Attorney with 2+ years of California litigation experience to join its growing practice. The firm handles warranty and lemon law defense matters and is open to candidates from a variety of litigation backgrounds.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys being in the courtroom, wants substantial responsibility, and is eager to continue developing their litigation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cases through all phases of litigation
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Draft and argue motions
  • Conduct written discovery and prepare discovery responses
  • Participate in trial preparation and case strategy
  • Handle client communications and case management
  • Bill time and maintain accurate time records

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar membership
  • 2+ years of litigation experience (any practice area considered)
  • Experience taking depositions is required
  • Experience drafting motions and participating in court proceedings
  • Litigation defense experience preferred but not required
  • Trial experience is a plus, but not necessary
  • Strong writing, advocacy, and communication skills
  • Confidence, initiative, and a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities
